See below for important information for the 2026-2027 Suburban season!
How do we rotate if a court is defaulted and both teams bring 6 players?
The Non-Defaulting team is A, and Defaulting team is B:
Note: These are Suburban League Rules, not USTA rules.
The Clock starts at the Scheduled Match Time and Clock stops once a Late Player steps onto the Court.
Late Penalties for the First Round
10-15 minutes = No Warmup plus 1 Game to Opponent
16-20 minutes = No Warmup plus 2 Games to Opponent
21-25 minutes = No Warmup plus 3 Games to Opponent
26-30 minutes = No Warmup plus 4 Games to Opponent
31+ minutes = Default the Court for the First Round
Late Penalties for the Second Round
5+ minutes into the Second Round = Default the Court
Substitutions are allowed for each Round of Play.
Once a Player has begun a Point in the first Round of Play, excluding Warmup, they may not be Substituted on a different Court for the remainder of the Match.
Players are allowed 5 minutes during the Round to treat an Injury without Penalty
Reference Friend at Court for additional Injury Rules.
If the Injured Player cannot continue Play, the Opposing Team is awarded the Point for the Round with 10 Games awarded to Non-Injured Team and Games won by the Injured Team prior to the Injury are still counted toward the Bonus Point on the Scoresheet
If a disagreement arises prior to or during a Match that cannot be resolved, indicate this on the Scoresheet by writing PROTEST in the Signature space and notify your Club Administrator. Lack of signature on Scoresheet does not qualify as Protest.
A 10-minute Warmup is allowed for the first Round of play only. No Warmup for the second Round of play.
Players are to Warmup with their opponents; however, absent an opponent, may choose to Warmup with their partner.
A Round is considered complete when the home Team has called Time and all Points-in-Progress at that moment have concluded.
A Point-in-Progress is defined as a Point where a server has begun any portion of their service motion or is between first and second serve. Stalling is strongly discouraged.
PlayReplay at Pine Lake Country Club will be in use for all Matches, unless unavailable as determined by PLCC.
Rules for PlayReplay
Each Doubles Team on a Court starts with two Challenges.
Challenges Reset each Hour of Play.
Each unsuccessful Challenge loses the Point and a Challenge.
Once at zero Challenges, that Doubles Team can no longer Challenge calls for the remainder of the Hour.
Each Doubles Team is to designate one Player to review the Challenges. Only one Player from each Team on a Court is to approach the review screen, as Challenges are not intended to disrupt the flow of Play.
A Player may not Challenge a call on their own side of the Court (ie: their own call).
Exception: A Player can Challenge their own Serve.
Players may only Challenge the last ball Played.
There are no Challenges allowed during the last five (5) minutes of Play in each Hour.
